Let America Votes endorses Jim Harper

Kansas City, MO — Let America Vote today endorsed Jim Harper for Indiana Secretary of State.

“Jim Harper is a devoted voting rights advocate running against one of the most active vote-suppressing politicians in the country,” said Jason Kander, President of Let America Vote. “Jim supports expanding voting hours and implementing policies that increase access to the polls like same-day voter registration. Let America Vote is proud to endorse Jim Harper.

“The mission of Let America Vote hits right at the heart of why I’m running to be Indiana’s next Secretary of State and what I aim to do when I am elected,” said Jim Harper. “I’m ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Let America Vote in the fight to end voter suppression and expand voting rights in Indiana. Their endorsement and our shared mission is not one I take lightly, and I look forward to working with Let America Vote to ensure every Hoosier can vote easily, securely and without discrimination.”

Indiana’s incumbent secretary of state Connie Lawson was inducted into Let America Vote’s Voter Suppression Hall of Shame for her support of President Trump’s voter suppression commission and her role in Indiana’s aggressive voter purging.

Let America Vote launched in February 2017 to fight back against proposals across the country that make it harder for eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right to cast a ballot. Whether it’s extreme identification requirements, questionable purges of voter rolls, voter intimidation, new and extreme voter registration processes, or anything that makes voting harder, Let America Vote will be there to lead the way against it. Its president is Jason Kander, the former Missouri Secretary of State.
